On February 13, 2023 a video featuring High On The Har went viral... across Arab media!
In it is featured our co-founders Rabbi Yehuda Levi and Dr. Melissa Jane Kronfeld filming a segment for our online educational program, A Temple Mount Moment, and each performing Hishtachavaya, or prostration, in honor of Hashem and his Holy house (click here to learn more). Although bowing down to God is meant to occur on the stone floor of the Temple Mount, as you will notice in the video, Jews are only permitted, at this time, to do so outside the gates.
The Jerusalem Waqf and Al-Aqsa Mosque Affairs Department, who first shared this video online, frequently film Jews on the Temple Mount in order to falsely claim they are "breaking into" or "storming" the Al-Aqsa Mosque (despite the fact that Jews traditionally do not enter a house of worship belonging to another faith and High On The Har, nor our partners and tour guests, do either) and are performing "Talmudic rituals" or "provocative dances" on the Temple Mount (despite the fact there is no such thing as a "Talmudic ritual" and celebratory singing and dancing is only permitted once Olim have exited the complex).
We thank the The Jerusalem Waqf and Al-Aqsa Mosque Affairs Department for capturing this special moment! And we look forward to seeing more pictures and video go viral featuring what High On The Har does best - celebrating the mitzvah of ascension each and ever day Jews are permitted on the Temple Mount!
